Collaboration is at the core of our research philosophy, recognizing that creating spaces where people come together for a harmonious, equitable, and sustainable future transcends individual contributions in today's context.

Within Elemental Design Lab, our focus extends beyond traditional disciplinary boundaries, rooted in architectural principles but open to diverse outcomes and methodologies. As design research evolves from a craftsmanship and individual endeavor to a collective undertaking enriched by extensive data and artificial intelligence, we integrate approaches from human-computer interaction, social computing, urban planning, and design studies, alongside the inherent methods of architecture. In our architectural pursuits, we envision a future characterized by its intricacies, imperfections, and inherent beauty. Our goal is to harmonize both quantitative and qualitative values, crafting a nuanced world that mirrors and amplifies the finest aspects of human existence in collective harmony. Our research endeavors are focused on revealing the potential for scalable design systems, emphasizing the integration of daylighting, manipulation of existing systems, and the creation of innovative socio-technical frameworks—a design approach intricately woven with the interplay between social and technological systems and their collaborative synergy. We envision the future of design in architecture, interior design, and products as the continual evolution of artifacts that dynamically absorb, synthesize, and respond to data.
